Part 2: What happens during a chiropractic adjustment

Tags: Chiropractic Care

We are going to continue our discussion on what happens during a chiropractic adjustment.

To quickly recap, the brain communicates with the rest of the body through the spinal nerves. In order for the body to function properly, the information needs to travel from the brain, down the spinal cord and out through the spinal nerves to each and every cell. The spine is what protects the spinal cord.

What is subluxation?

Unfortunately, due to misalignments in the spine (subluxation) degeneration ensues and there is a disconnect in the brain/body connection. I want to delve a little deeper into the brain/body disconnect because I feel it's important to understand. What initially occurs inside of the body during a subluxation is dis-ease. What in the world is dis-ease you ask? Dis-ease is when there is a disconnect in the brain/body connection but symptoms are not present. You "feel" okay, but on the inside a crisis is brewing.

Why is subluxation dangerous for your body?

If there isn't a correction made to the subluxation, disease will occur. Dis-ease will always lead to disease. So what's the difference between dis-ease and disease? Time and symptoms. Once you have symptoms, your body is in crisis mode. When symptoms become present, most people start reaching for the Advil and Ibuprofen. I want to challenge my friends in Fargo-Moorhead and throughout the Red River Valley to think differently. We will continue this discussion.

But in the meantime, how's your spine?
